She's into makeup, he's into guns and long-distance running. She's kikay, he's the type who hates mushy poses. Somehow destiny fell into place. Singapore-based couple Jay Ayroso and Tin Galolo went home to tie the knot, and WE were more than happy to document their big day. It was all fun, laughter, some tears (the groom shed more), and an intimate celebration of love.
It was a pleasure shooting a nice-looking couple. I have my opinion on which celebrities they look like, however I'd rather share some of the photos than talk about doppelgangers here. But if you insist... :)
Again, our congratulations to Jay and Tin! May you love happily ever after! :)
Yours truly, Mikko Gatchalian and Jay Salvador made up Team Wonderwall for this one, ably supported by the Happy Penguins duo of Dennis and Erika Santos for the onsite-slideshow.
Thanks for dropping by. :)
Today is gonna be the day...
Wonderwall Exposure is a result of incessant inquiries from friends (and their friends) if I cover weddings. Much as I wanted to shoot a special event like it, I have so much respect for the work done by wedding photographers. What they do ain't easy. In this age when hobbyists jump at the opportunity to cover weddings albeit too prematurely (and mind you, they actually charge for it), I didn't want to compromise my quality of work and name by just saying yes.
By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do...
It might have been a case of being fed up with saying no, or an undeniable urge to challenge myself, that I put up an events coverage team. I couldn't do it alone and obviously needed other shooters to work with. I recruited two friends and together we prepared ourselves for events photography. We took workshops, brainstormed, did a lot of practice prenup and wedding shoots, and basically whipped ourselves into one unit. It took a while, but we knew we needed to get better first.
We don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now...
And here we are, finally ready to document your special moments. We don't think we're wedding photographers in the truest sense. This is not our bread-and-butter. We're a bunch of passionate photographers who would love to capture heartfelt and intimate moments, in the process offering a fresh approach by improving on conventional knowledge shared by the industry. We look forward to celebrating your events thru our cameras.
After all, we're you're Wonderwall.

You've seen their engagement session, now it's time you see Rainier & Cleo's wedding. From the preps until the reception, the couple just exuded an unbelievable sense of calm. It didn't seem like they were rattled or pressured at all in keeping up with their schedule and guests. Or maybe they did an excellent job of disguising their anxiety. Haha. Seriously though, Rainier & Cleo were relaxed and just enjoyed their big day, which is how couples should do it.
It was a laid-back, solemn yet joyful affair. If anything, we got the impression that the wedding was merely a formality for Rainier & Cleo. They have long decided to spend the rest of their lives with each other, the wedding was just the big celebration of that decision. Again, it was an honor to cover the wedding. They are the first couple from Bulacan Letratista (a photography club which we are members of) to get married...the trust was both elating and humbling.
My absolute fave photos from the event :
Shout out to the Wonderwall Exposure crew for Rainier & Cleo's wedding : the ol' reliable Mikko Gatchalian, Benjo "Money Shot" Beringuela, and my sister Lorraine for helping out. Now let's go get some more!
(July 14, 2012)

Wanna see more photos? For a limited time (until July 30), you may view more photos from the wedding at my online gallery. Just go to http://www.jersandelphoto.com/#/album/d06b5v. Or, if you want a lot lot more, you can wait until I hand over all the photo files to Rainier & Cleo. Maybe you can borrow the copy or wait for them to upload and tag you. Sorry, this blog post will get too long if I upload all the photos. =)
In case you missed it, here's the couple's onsite photo slideshow :
Congratulations to Rainier & Cleo! More fun, more gigs, and more years to come.
Thanks for looking. Cheers!!!
I'm happy to share engagement photos of Cleo and Rainier. Both are friends from Bulacan Letratista (BULLET), a photography club that I'm a member of. They are the first couple from BULLET who are getting married, so I consider it an honor that they chose WE among their photography friends to cover their wedding. It's an honor...and added pressure, but it's the kind of pressure that I'm all too happy to bear.
Cleo and Rainier are simple and fun-loving individuals, and they specifically asked me not to do corny poses - they would have none of it. They wanted a casual, laid-back prenup session. We had stops at UP Diliman (where they are getting married and my alma mater), a tapsilog house that Rainier frequented during his college days, a graffiti-adorned location in Intramuros, and a grassy lot in Bulacan. Posing for the camera is not a natural thing for them, but as the shoot went on, I noticed they just became more comfortable (you'll see). Truly an effortless shoot, maybe the hardest thing they did was to run for cover when rain interrupted the shoot several times. I bet they would agree with me. =)
Here you go...
Here's the Save The Date teaser slideshow :
I missed the crew on this one, but we'll get together to cover the wedding proper next month. See you
again, then. =)
From the time Mika asked us to cover her debut, she knew what she wanted. "I want it to be on a beach, or on a yacht. Any place surrounded by water."
A few months later, we were booked to the fantastic island of Boracay.
This was Wonerwall Exposure's first exclusive official gig. Bubbly Mika made it fun and more memorable, from her pre-deb shoot until her Boracay bash. She even had her dad Mcoy sign me a copy of Orange and Lemon's debut album. (Big fan here.) =D
The photos :
Here's a photo slideshow (this one's not onsite though) of Ms. Motegi's eighteenth : http://vimeo.com/26490177
Mikko Gatchalian and Kim Capiral completed Team WE for the pre-deb shoot, and Gatch made it all the way to Boracay.
Till next time. Cheers! =)
Wonderwall Exposure's first wedding coverage is as special as the date of the vows. Longtime couple Paolo Espiridion and Anne Sta. Rita exchanged "I do"'s on that most-coveted day of October 10, 2010. WE were there to witness and capture the once-in-their-lifetime and never-again-in-a-century event. It's a black-and-white-themed wedding that we shot in color nonetheless.
Special mention to Sol Parcon, Mikko Gatchalian and Robbie Agoncillo for comprising Team WE on this 10.10.10 event. And you SHOULD (I mean, really should) take a look at the onsite photo slideshow that we showed on the latter part of the reception. Click HERE to view it.
To the Perfect 10 couple Paolo and Anne, congratulations! Stay in love. =)
